Lynda Gayle Frith Hawley

Lynda Gayle Frith Hawley was born January 25, 1984, in Methuen, MA, and left this world peacefully on August 29, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. Lynda was preceded in death by her grandparents, G.E. and Barbara F. Powers, James R. and Ernestine B. Frith; her father-in-law, Thomas L. Hawley Sr.; and nephew Malakai J. Frith. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Lee" Hawley Jr.; parents, Mark B. and Pamela Powers Frith; sisters, Jennifer K. Frith and Rachel E. Frith; stepsons, Kenneth T. Hawley and Dawson K. Hawley; nieces, Stacie L. Frith and Aniyah J. Frith; nephew, Christopher M. Haywood Jr. and great nephew, Jameson "Rooster" R. Frith; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers. Lynda was a proud 2002 graduate of Christiansburg High School and a Blue Demon through and through. After working at Hardee's in her younger years, she found her calling in healthcare. She spent 10 years as a CNA at Warm Hearth Village and 15 years working in the CCU at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. After more than 20 years in healthcare, Lynda decided to make a career change and spent the last two years working at the Radford Arsenal. More than anything, Lynda treasured time spent with the people she loved. Whether it was a family meal at home, Mexican food with her coworkers, a day at the lake, a trip to Kentucky to visit family and spend time at the cabin, or sitting around the table playing cards, it was the people around her who made those moments special. She was also an avid Kentucky Wildcats tan, and game days often meant UK basketball, one of her many Wildcats shirts, and cheering on her Cats. Music was never far behind either. From Dolly Parton and Elvis to Ludacris and Nelly, if one of her favorite songs came on, she was going to sing along —whether the rest of us wanted to hear it or not. For Lynda, the best memories didn't have to be extravagant; they were made through laughter, conversation, music, and simply being surrounded by the people she loved. Lynda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, her love for her family and friends, and all the little things that made Lynda uniquely Lynda will remain in the hearts and memories of those fortunate enough to have shared their lives with her. Thank you to all the friends and extended family who have been there to support the family during this time. Her service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Laura Beth Howell and Pastor Sebert Rorrer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service.
